Overview: This presentation covers mandatory reporting, focusing on child abuse, neglect, and the abuse and exploitation of at-risk elders and adults. It also addresses emergency procedures and the mandates for reporting threats to self, others, or entities.

Objectives:

  • Define mandatory reporting and identify who must report and what situations require reporting.
  • Understand relevant Colorado Revised Statutes for reporting child abuse, elder abuse, and threats to self or others.
  • Define and identify signs of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, caretaker neglect, and exploitation.
  • Understand the consequences of failing to report.
  • Apply knowledge through case presentations and discussions.
