Join us this fall for a special series that will give you the skills to better reach patients for cancer prevention and screening.
The Alliance of Colorado Community Health Workers, Patient Navigators and Promotores de Salud, in in collaboration with the Patient Navigator Training Collaborative (PNTC), will be offering 5 cancer screening 101 webinars, followed by 2 online MI sessions.
This free series builds on last year’s sessions to offer further training to reach patients who might seem difficult to navigate into preventive cancer screening.
Cancer 101 Sessions
These in-depth sessions are perfect for those new to preventive screening or who need to brush up on their knowledge. Topics include screening guidelines, common facts and myths, the impact on Colorado and rural communities and strategies you can use in your role to increase screening rates. Motivational Interviewing Sessions
Deepen your use of MI skills to navigate patients to cancer screening. This advanced motivational interviewing training will be offered online in live learning sessions. Basic MI proficiency required; you will be asked to take a brief assessment prior to having your registration approved. If you do not pass the assessment, you have the option of reviewing the modules #1-3 that were offered in Fall 2018.
