Do you live outside the Denver metropolitan area? Have you waited for a convenient option to complete the navigator competency assessment? The Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE) will be offering the next competency assessment on May 7 online. Registration closes on April 24.

Those who pass the competency assessment will be listed on the state of Colorado’s Health Navigator Registry. To qualify for the assessment, participants need to have completed training from a recognized training program. PNTC’s requirements are Level 1 Health Navigation Fundamentals and Level 2 Care Coordination.

Before registering for this assessment, please complete the instructions here under “Get listed on the Colorado Health Navigator Registry.” To take the assessment online, participants will need a computer with a working camera and microphone, reliable internet connection and a space free of distractions.

ATTENTION: The training waiver will expire on May 31, 2020! This waiver allows those who have taken Level 1 between June 29, 2015 and June 29, 2018 or who have 4,000 clock hours of experience to take the assessment without additional training.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment may help offset the cost of the assessment (employers must first submit full payment to CAPE). For questions on credentialing, waivers or scholarships, please email CDPHE_Health_Navigator@state.co.us
