Community Health Worker Registry

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has defined competencies for unlicensed health navigators and CHWs, as well as created a voluntary Community Health Worker Registry. The registry also lists CDPHE-Recognized Training Programs for navigators to choose from for their training needs. To earn a spot on the registry and qualify for upcoming Medicaid reimbursement, CHWs must take training and pass an assessment to demonstrate their skills. Currently, there is no national certification process for health navigators or CHWs.

The alliance encourages PNs CHWs and PdS from throughout the state to join.
