A recent video highlights the success of patient navigation efforts in Colorado.
“I come into work knowing I can help someone, even change someone’s life,” says Elizabeth Tovar, LPN, a patient navigator at Salud Family Health Centers, in the video.
The video features patient navigators and leaders in the state and around the nation, and showcases the efforts of the Colorado Colorectal Screening Program (now the Colorado Cancer Screening Program) in improving colon cancer screening rates by using navigators.
The purpose of the video is to share the status and value of patient navigation in Colorado, says Andrea (Andi) Dwyer, director of the Colorado Cancer Screening Program. It was produced by Catch It In Time and the University of Colorado Cancer Center.
