September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign focused on advocating for increased knowledge and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). It is important to Talk About Dementia to help reduce the stigma associated with these diseases.
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) has released a new online module to assist community health workers (CHWs) in addressing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and supporting caregivers in their communities. The free module covers dementia risk reduction, early detection, and caregiving and highlights real-life examples of CHWs’ impact nationwide. Learners who complete the training will receive an official certificate of completion.
