Staff from the Patient Navigation and Community Health Worker Training program were fortunate enough to attend the American Public Health Association Conference Nov. 2-5, in Washington, DC. The theme for this year’s APHA conference was “Making the Public’s Health a National Priority.”

PNCT data analyst Shenazar (Shane) Esmundo presented at the Emerging Scholars Theater, an opportunity for students to share their research. Her presentation was titled “Addressing health misinformation with community health workers: A bootcamp translation and community engagement method.”

Other highlights of the conference included attending various other sessions focused on CHWs and hearing about the efforts going on in other states, as well as attending a rally for public health on the National Mall.
