In this virtual workshop, learn four key motivational skills that will help you connect with clients using the spirit of MI, with time for practice and discussion. Designed for those new to MI or who would like a refresher.
Please note, this course covers the same concepts as the Basic Motivational Interviewing Online course in a condensed format. This training can be used a prerequisite for the Motivational Interviewing Skills for COVID-19 Conversations on April 1.Â
At the conclusion of this program, you will be able to:
- Define Motivational Interviewing, or MI.
- Identify the four key MI skills (OARS)
- Understand basic strategies to enhance patient readiness to change.
- Practice strategies for engaging clients.
