Elevate your Motivational Interviewing skills in this hands-on virtual workshop. Together, we’ll dig into what to do when conversations get tough—especially when a client pushes back. MI identifies two distinct forms of resistance: sustain talk and discord. You’ll learn how to recognize each one and respond in ways that keep the conversation collaborative.
We’ll also explore the art of complex reflections, going beyond simple repetition to reflect the deeper thoughts, feelings, and beliefs you sense beneath a client’s words. Through guided practice, discussion, and real-time feedback, you’ll strengthen your ability to navigate challenging moments with confidence and skill.
Prerequisite: Basic MI course and familiarity with Basic MI skills (open ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, summaries. Certificate of completion available for those who participate in the entire program.
