Community health workers and patient navigators play an important role in the various phases of disaster management. The main goal of emergency and disaster preparedness is to protect individuals and communities from severe harm from disasters. Proper disaster management also enables effective coordination once a disaster occurs.

- Know how to plan for an emergency and teach others how to be prepared.
